Leaders stay on course for glory

MAGDALEN LAST WEEK opened up an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League, winning 2-0 at Lincoln, who two days earlier had held second-placed Wadham to a 2-2 draw, writes Rob Devey.

Worcester's woes continued. First they were beaten 4-1 at Merton, then went down 4-0 at New, a Dan Brignall brace and strikes from James Nash and Steve Matthews securing the points for Mike Heal's side.

Queen's pulled further away from the Division One chasing pack by hammering St.Hugh's 5-0, Simon Guest and Pete Baker grabbing two apiece.

Jesus earned their first win of the season with a crucial 2-1 success against St.John's to give them hope in the struggle for survival.

Action in Division Two saw Keble become the latest victims of the Corpus resurgence, Mike Bowl's last-minute winner giving the hosts a shock win. Matt Grubb's side followed up this success with a hard-earned 1-0 victory at LMH.

Keble got back on course with a 5-1 win at home to Univ, while also at the top, hat-tricks from Richard Clode and Henry Drysdale helped Pembroke to an 11-0 drubbing of Regent's Park.

Christ Church consolidated their grip at the summit thanks to a 6-0 walkover win at the expense of LMH, who had earlier beaten Trinity 5-2.
