Oxford graduate Rosamund Pike began shooting the new Bond film on Monday at Pinewood Studios. At the press launch of the film on January 11th, it was announced that ex-Wadham student would play a character named 'Gala Brand' who crosses paths with the 007 agent. Among the areas badly affected are management consultancy and investment banking. This problem is intensified in Oxford, where these career choices have about 3,000 applicants per year. The first signs of the downturn were seen in August, when many graduates about to begin employment were told to defer their entry, by major recruiters including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.
