A St Catz tutor has astounded medical experts by refusing to die, despite being given only months to live.

Gearin-Tosh was diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow, in 1994. Sufferers can expect to live a year or two with treatment, but rarely live more than twelve months. Despite pleas for him to under go chemotherapy Gearin-Tosh refused and embarked on an alternative course of treatment.

Gearin-Tosh's miraculous survival is not the first time he has amazed medical experts. Shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, he was also diagnosed as being seriously anaemic, surprising doctors that he had managed to live such a normal life.
