Union with Germaine

GERMAINE GREER ATTENDED a forum at the Oxford Union last Tuesday to speak on the topic 'Can women have it all?'.

The outspoken feminist gave a characteristically controversial speech, challenging the idea that 'it all' should be associated with juggling the demands of corporate success with family commitments.

Her speech was well received by the audience, most of whom were amused by her stinging indictment of corporate culture, although a few members questioned her hyporcrisy in working for the BBC.

The other speakers included Nicola Ralston, former head of strategy at Schroders Asset Management, and Helena Morrissey, Chief Executive of Newton Investment Management.
