I've watched a lot of college football in my time, but never have I seen anything quite as ridiculous as what I saw in the Parks on Monday afternoon.

A group of 17 students from Oxford University Dancesport Team returned from Florida earlier this month carrying the Intercontinental Varsity Dancesport trophy. Having participated in the major event organised by the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancing Association at the Ocean Centre conference facility in Daytona Beach, the UK Champions went on to beat 11 other varsity teams from the UK, USA and Canada. The result was a convincing win for Oxford, who scored 36 points - 8 points clear of their nearest rival....

Oxford were keen to treat this game in a serious manner, seeing it as a warm up to their vital BUSA games and with the Varsity match coming up, all squad members were keen to make an impression on captain, Stuart Drury....

The Blues bounced back from their defeat by the Old Girls team ten days ago to beat Birmingham impressively 24 - 10.

The Manchester United revival has gone decidedly pear-shaped thanks to defeats inflicted by Liverpool and Middlesborough. One thing at least is clear; the hot streak of a single Dutch striker will not be enough to win them the league.
