Ruc-King Crap

Ruc-King Crap

The sun shone brightly in Surrey as the Oxford squad ran in try after try against their feeble oppostion. Having recently spent a week at Lanzarote's Club la Santa improving fitness and skills during mid-season tour; OUWRFC were on top form.

It seemed as if the defensive drills the team had been running before the match were unnecessary. Kings conceded the last 5 minutes of play, but the Blues had plenty of time to try out new combinations of players and hone their attack. Newcomer Beth Capper (fullback) did particularly well in her 2nd game of 15s, storming through various attempted tackles to set up two tries on the wing for Rosie Milton.

Multiple tries were also scored by Alice Taylor (5), and by flanker Rachel Mawle (2), while Alice Tedd (wing), Keshena Richardson (fly-half), Laura McMullen (inside centre), and Becky Young (scrum-half) all put the ball over the try line. UBS Warburg Player of the Match was Jess Gretton (prop), who not only scored a try, but converted three of them!

This easy triumph will give the Blues added confidence in their BUSA matches, and sets them on the right track for a Varsity victory in Cambridge on 8th March.
