The Blues found the perfect Alka Seltzer for their Varsity match hangover as they roared to victory against the RAF. The servicemen simply had no answer to the power of the Blues' forwards led by Man of the Match Richie Woods who turned in another towering performance. In the first minute Oxford grabbed possession and powered forward; Rubie snaffled the ball and jinked his way through the RAF defence. Pushing the opposition immediately onto the back foot, Oxford piled on the pressure giving Fennell a run in at the corner. The Air Force were never going to be a push over, however, and immediately drove forward but Oxford's defence remained patient and frustrated the RAF attacks time and time again until the visitors were forced into a mistake....

The sun shone brightly in Surrey as the Oxford squad ran in try after try against their feeble oppostion. Having recently spent a week at Lanzarote's Club la Santa improving fitness and skills during mid-season tour; OUWRFC were on top form.

AFTER A SLOW START to the season with several narrow losses and a few shoeings, the Oxford Golf Team set off at 6am for a weekend away at Worplesdon and West Sussex golf clubs. At lunchtime against Worplesdon, the score was tied at 3 apiece, with all to play for in the afternoon.

THE GAME LOOKED out of Oakland's reach at half time. After scoring an early field-goal Oakland conceded 34 points without reply. At half time the score was 20-3, by midway through the third quarter it was 34-3. The greatest ever turnaround for victory in Superbowl history was 10 points. Oakland would have to triple that to just to stay in the game....
