Gone Too Far
Some students picket minister. Other students picket picketing students because they 'only use direct action when it suits them'.
We know that student politics is famous for factionalism and disunity but surely this is taking the farce to a new level.
Two weeks ago, when Free Education Direct Action were formed, we decided to take the charitable view, and mused that maybe there was a role for a specific 'direct action' anti-fees group.
But events of this week have shown that the breakaway faction are more interested in protesting at Will Straw than at Tony Blair.
And Finance and Funding campaign have been made almost equally ridiculous by the ill-thought through idea of picketing Labour ministers... only when they're visiting the Labour Club.
If we go on like this, the campaign against fees will be doomed before it's even begun.
