Stan's stand
ST ANNE'S JCR have passed a motion snubbing the domestic bursar to ensure that they are allowed to stay up during the forthcoming vacation in accordance with college regulations.
The motion, which was proposed by the JCR President Chris Sullivan, is intended to send a clear message to domestic bursar Martin Jackson. The JCR feels that his recent policy announcements contravene college regulations as they ignore the right of undergraduate members to stay up after 8th week if they are doing exams. Jackson failed to provide this option to stay up after the end of term to undergraduates in the vacation residence forms. He has subsequently been forced to retract the forms following a JCR protest and a governing body decision, which ruled against him.
Chris Sullivan told the OxStu: "I am determined that students will have the maximum amount of on-site vacation residence and are not victim to a trade off between their academic interests and conference income."
