VISITORS TO HERTFORD BAR may soon be getting eyed up not just by fellow students, but also by the bar's very own webcam.
The JCR recently passed a motion permitting Bar Manager Will Lynn to buy the gadget for the popular student-run bar. "I was thinking what would be a fun idea and this just came to me," says Lynn, "and it means you can check who's there and never miss a good night down the bar!"
One student, keen to take advantage of the webcam's service, enthused: "I'm looking forward to watching it on my year abroad, so that I can keep myself up-to-date with college gossip".
Initially, only Oxford University students will be able to check out the Hertford fun and frolics online. Lynn added, "it's meant to be a laugh and I'm hoping it won't have any negative impact. It should be good, clean fun". JCR President Fiona Coady is also "really pleased" and supportive of the innovation.
