Man-date
Keble's JCR President, Chris Todd, has been mandated to go on a date with another man, Dave Furness, last year's JCR President.
The motion, which was passed by a large margin at Sunday's JCR meeting, noted that "mandate looks and sounds suspiciously like man-date" and that the latter is "a date with a man". It further noted that the JCR had the power to mandate a man-date. Following much debate about which lucky man Todd should go on 'man-date' with, the JCR finally settled on the highly popular suggestion of Furness, ex-JCR President.
Todd appeared less than enthusiastic about the motion, protesting that it had been concealed from him. He considered fighting it, but told the OxStu that he resigned himself to the fact that what he said "would make no difference at all".
Todd is yet to ask Furness out on a man-date and fears that he will be turned down due to the latter's imminent finals. Furness however told OxStu that he is "very excited about the prospect".
