Pot for kids

An Oxford student was handed a two-year suspended jail sentence last week after he pleaded guilty to supplying class A drugs.

Gareth Williams, 21, was reportedly 'high on drugs' when he started handing out cannabis to children as young as eleven at a skate park. It is believed that the judge was lenient on Williams after hearing that he had a history of manic depression, which he has been treated for.

A spokesperson for the University told the OxStu: "We can't comment on individual students but the University and its colleges regard drug-taking as a serious matter, not least on health and welfare grounds. It is for the Proctors to consider any appropriate follow-up action under University disciplinary codes."
