The Weakest Wink
OXFORD UNIVERSITY TIDDLYWINKS SOCIETY recorded their first varsity victory since 1995, and only their second in 40 years, at Queen's College Cambridge last Sunday.
Sport: Blues Puck It Up
GEARING UP for next Sunday's Varsity match, The OU Women's Ice Hockey team played two league games this weekend, and finally found the scoring touch in their match against the Basingstoke Bears.
Sport: A Stirling Effort
AT THE END of a gruelling 120 minutes of football, the Blues extended the their unbeaten home record to take a place in the last 8 of the BUSA championship. The 1-0 victory over Scottish champions Stirling, sealed with a header by Chris Bone in extra-time, took the team to the furthest stage of the competition since their entrance, and provided a welcome boost ahead of the Varsity match on March 12....
Sport: Blues Blast Boks
John Fennell proved the difference between these two fine teams as he scored seventeen of Oxford's points in a fortune-laden victory over the powerful Univeristy of Cape Town side. A strong South-African contingent turned out on the breezy afternoon, witnessing their compatriots execute a powerful performance against their lighter opponents, but all to no avail. ...
Sport: St Beater's
St Peter's were not flawless in their victory over Keble, especially in the mundane drivel of rugby that was on show in the second half, but were certainly formidable enough to exert a strong case for their credentials as Cuppers winners 2003. The game ended up a non-contest. Keble, without their Blues forwards, were unable to win a scrum, line-out, ruck or maul and managed to concede twelve points, being dominated like a whore in a cheap S&M movie....

Inside-centre Townsend made amends for a dropped pass with a sweetly struck penalty. Hall countered immediately, however, when centre Caffall broke through on the right for the opening try.

Sport: Blues Romp in Frisbee Comp
WOW (Oxford University's Ultimate Frisbee Women's Team) had a bad start - Turner didn't turn up. Having completed a crystal maze style challenge of extracting the over-sleeper from her bed we headed on our way to Talybont Leisure centre in Cardiff for the tournament we had been training for all year - Indoor Student Nationals. Oxford were seeded 4th out of 16 teams....
Sport: Coxless Eight
THE GIRLS ROW on the same river, they suffer the same horrendous early mornings, the same gruelling gym sessions and they compete against the common Tabland foe, yet why do the girls suffer such unequal treatment compared to their male counterparts?
Sport: Sporting Thoughts
LIKE ALL SPORT FANATICS I use the sporting calendar as opposed to the Gregorian (so as far I'm concerned this issue is coming out on 'Third Thursday of the Six Nations'), and as the spring approaches, the next few months present a huge wealth of live action
