Galloway from me
A protesting councillor was ejected from the Town Hall on Monday night as students and locals flocked to see maverick MP George Galloway at a public meeting.
Labour councillor Mick McAndrews was ejected from the hall after disturbing Galloway as he was speaking to around 350 people.
Galloway, who was thrown out of the Labour party last year for calling on British troops to disobey orders and not fight in the Iraq war, was speaking at a meeting of the Respect Unity Coalition. The left-wing caucus was formed from anti-war protestors, and Galloway is standing on its platform at the June European elections.
Before the incident occured, McAndrews, who was carrying with him a poster reading 'Oxford says no traitors,' told The OxStu: "George is only interested in what he believes and wouldn't be interested in anyone else's views."
