Balliol bogsheet causes stir

By Gemma Varley

Balliol bogsheet John de Balliol caused a stir on Saturday as several anonymous 'Valentine's' poems were found to contain personal insults and abuse about students, writes Gemma Varley.

Instant complaints from offended students prompted the immediate withdrawal of the material. The two editors were summoned before the Dean for allowing the poems to go to print despite their offensive material.

JCR President, Daniel Konrad Cooper, told The OxStu: "The JCR sincerely regrets that [the bogsheet] went to print. Nobody was happy about it and as a direct result the editors have resigned."

Balliol Dean, Diego Zancani, told The OxStu: "There is no way that the college can condone such inappropriate behaviour. I shall be taking disciplinary action."
