Let-off for Union tribunal two

By Gemma Varley

Sunday night saw Union President-elect, Georgina Costa, and Treasurer-elect, Ella Lister, cleared of all charges after being accused of dereliction of duty over the Christmas vacation.

Costa's case was heard first by the Senior Disciplinary Committee (SDC), who deemed that there was no case to answer and as such she should face no punishment. In light of this David Vaiani, who brought the allegations against the pair, decided to drop his case with regards to Miss Lister.

The SDC concluded that Mr Vaiani had lodged a frivolous complaint, and thus he faced the necessary disciplinary action. As a result he was given a £100 fine and had his membership suspended for the rest of term.
