Torpids 2004
This Wednesday the second major inter-collegiate rowing event of the year (the first being the novice-only Christ Church Regatta) begins. As Hilary term's 'bumps' event, Torpids has a reputation for not fulfilling the boat-crashing chaos that it so often promises. This is not due to any lack of standard or ability, despite the fact that the current university level rowers are not allowed to row for their colleges in Torpids. However it is down to a cruel tendency of the weather to get in the way. In the last 15 years river conditions have dictated that Torpids has only run in its full 4 day 11 division glory five times....
Sport: Centaurs Varsity
The salubrious surrounds of Upton Park may be denied them but the Centaurs produced a performance that brimmed with enough bombast to ensure that the occasion might not be the only thing motivating the Oxford blues to excel against Cambridge in the senior Varsity showdown. The Centaurs easily overpowered the Cambridge Falcons and not even the most partisan of observers could condemn the score-line as flattering....

Sport: Saints win, Pembroke sin
A combined St Anne's and St Peter's side routed Pembroke's Cinderella side in the women's rugby Cuppers final on Monday, with a final score of 36-0.
Sport: Net-balls up for Oxford
Saturday saw both the Blues and Roos Varsity netball matches at Iffley. A huge crowd of support had gathered before either match began, and the sides of the sports hall were lined with Cambridge supporters, many of whom appeared to have come solely for these games.
Sport: Pussy Catz
Wadham's quest to retain their Cuppers crown was still intact at the end of this hard-fought game between two of the big boys of college football.
Sport: "Drown the Tabs"
In the first of Saturday evening's Varsity water polo matches, Cambridge's quick play proved to be too much for the home team in a match whose score did not represent the hard fight that took place.
Sport: Majestic play by Oxford in hockey Varsity
On an "unaccountably" hot day, and watched by packed crowd at Middlesex University's astro, Oxford took on Cambridge in what was to be a thrilling match and, ultimately, a majestic victory for the Dark Blues.
Sport: Crew Diary
OUWBC had its last set of match races this past weekend, racing Thames RC's top two women's crews at Henley. The aim was to give us a chance to practice for the real Boat Race, and so the races were held over 2km downstream, matching the Henley race's course.
