Disaster relief event raises £12,000 for tsunami victims
Students from across the University helped raise over £12,000 for the victims of the Asian tsunami crisis at a specially organised club night on Monday.
Event promoters Rock Student, Hit and Run, Sunday Roast and Zoo teamed up for the event at Park End nightclub earlier this week.
OSSL Manging Director Daniel Finley told The Oxford Student: "We are all delighted with the success of the night and are pleased to be able to donate the proceeds to such a worthwhile cause."
The total raised includes a £5,000 contribution from the Park End nightclub.
The money will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee, a group of 12 charities who have raised over £200m since the tsunami struck on Boxing Day last year.
