A former Oxford student was found dead after hanging himself from Magdalen Bridge. Graham Sheppard, 27, was a past student at Oxford Brookes, living in East Oxford. The inquest has only recently taken place into the death which occurred two months ago. The body was found trapped between punts on September 3rd.

The police confirmed that cause of death was by hanging, perhaps by means of a washing line.

Not content with their historic pro-fees stance, St Peter's have revealed where their priorities really lie. Top of the JCR agenda this week: tomato ketchup as a human right. Although their first sachet is free, disgruntled eaters are refusing to foot the cost of additional ketchup. Free flow sauce looks to be on the cards. Free education? Not likely.

A recent Oxford graduate has died of injuries suffered in the Paddington rail accident. Miss Sunni Hah, who read French and German at St. Anne's from 1992 to 1996, died in a London hospital on November 5. Miss Hah suffered 70 per cent burns in the October 5 commuter train crash in west London. 25 years old, Miss Hah had come to Britain from South Korea with her family at age 3. St. Anne's Principal, Mrs. Ruth Deech, described as "a happy, lovely girl who had worked very hard to achieve her ambition of becoming a barrister." The Principal also emphasised that "everyone who knew Sunni at St. Anne's will want to join me in sending our sympathies to her family for this tragic loss." Miss Hah was the accident's 31st victim.

In last week's paper we stated that the Hertford College Bar opening hours had been shortened. Fortunately this was not the case.
