Tute-ing
HOW DO YOU fancy bumping into these people in your lectures this year? It seems that, just as many Oxford students have gone on to find fame and fortune, the stars are equally keen to get matriculating.
Embarking upon a Theology course at Wycliffe Hall is Jonathan Aitken, disgraced ex-Tory minister, keen to start a new life after his early release from prison. Aitken is going back to basics, famously having to share a bathroom with other students - a far cry from his days of power.
Also rumoured to be starting a one-year English course at Magdalen College is Clare Danes, who starred opposite Leonardo Di Caprio in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. The College's JCR claim that she isn't on any lists of students for this year, although they admitted that celebrities are often left off such lists for security reasons. Magdalen's bops may well have suddenly become much more popular with male students.
And there may well be more to come. Chelsea Clinton has expressed a strong interest in studying at Oxford next year. Her father, the outgoing US President, is also keen to come to Oxford as a lecturer. Whether we'll be bumping into Chelsea in Park End remains to be seen.
