Have You Heard The One About...

By Unknown Author

Dear Oxford Student,

On behalf of all Irish students here I would like to say how dismayed I was upon arrival at the Freshers' Fair to find no Irish society. There was a Welsh one, a Scottish one, and one for just about every country in the world. Why? Are there no more Irish students out there looking for some craic and (good) Guinness? I haven't met any more or if I have their unique (and beautiful!) accents have gone! Please explain this.

Yours,

An Irish Rover

Having always thought "Good Guinness" was something of an oxymoron, we at the OxStu are probably not bet placed to help you. However, we have been informed by members of the editorial team who wish to remain nameless, that the best place to find good quality craic is on street corners in Cowley. Otherwise, as regards the Irish society, there are two possible reasons for their no-show at the Freshers' Fair:

1. They were put to shame by the Oxstu stall and decided not to turn up.

2. They no longer exist and are not on OUSU's society list, although they did exist last year. Sorry...

If you run the Irish society please contact the OxStu and we will plug you free of charge!
