It is a subject that people are reluctant to refer to - even when it appears obvious ("I walked into a door"). In this country we have a culture of not investigating what goes on behind closed doors. But recent statistics showing an increase in domestic violence suggest that we should start to bring domestic violence out into the open, and make it less of a taboo subject....
