Sound Education
Rising like a phoenix out of the ashes of the ill-fated Oxygen FM, Oxford's new student radio station is finally here - but this time it will be broadcast online. efusionradio.com, as it is known, was set up when directors at Fusion 107.9 FM, Oxygen's descendent launched last November, realised that Oxford student radio needed a shot in the arm if it were to survive. And fast. ...
Features: Summer of discontent
When William Hague gave his controversial speech about ebogus asylum seekers' last year, a ripple went through the nation that was almost reminiscent of the days of Enoch Powell. This July British immigration officials in Prague were shamed when it was found that they limited entry purely on the basis of skin colour. Among the many studies which show that ethnic minorities are discriminated against in the workplace, recent reports have also shown that many Government departments are dismally failing to recruit and promote Asian and Black employees. Features: Our man in New York
Despite supposedly being home by now; I am still in New York; since no planes are flying anywhere in the States, except for the squadron of F16s which are constantly rumbling overhead, and the Apache helicopter gunships which have replaced the executive choppers over Wall Street.
Features: Revolutionising the Oxford Ball?
It's eight at night and I'm wielding an AK47 whilst talking to Oscar Wilde, a Kommissar of the KGB and a guy describing himself as "a vague attempt to acknowledge Chinese culture". Stranger things happen in Oxford most Saturday nights, you might think. However, the bizarre menagerie of costumed would-be revellers stretching for half a mile from the gates of St Hughes College is no chance gathering. We are waiting for one of the most aggressively, and successfully, marketed events of this year's calendar - the Oxford Revolution. ...
