I read the editorial comment "Making A Point" by your music editor Ria Hopkinson, with absolute amazement. Ria seems incapable of realising that she in fact answers her own question so succinctly in her own article, it does beggar belief that she needs to expend more energy writing more and more page filling waffle. Yep there is as she points out "complete apathy" and "absolute indifference" since quite frankly whether a small music venue stays open or not, is largely irrelevant in the great scheme of things, except to people like herself who obviously need to fill blank pieces of paper with a load of trivial junk. What is even more galling about the article however is the choice of words such as "murderous", "real criminals", "crimes against humanity" in the current global climate, which shows such amazing disrespect for REAL issues of importance and gravity that she merely underlines the irrelevance of her case. It is clear that she does the best hatchet job on what may well be a genuinely decent cause by her use of hyperbole and utter lack of sensitivity - a bit more intelligence and a little less hystericism, might better achieve the desired result,...
