Miss World
Another facet to the controversial Miss World story has emerged recently, with a Oxford Brookes student making fresh allegations of corruption.
Last year the competition sparked riots in Nigeria, resulting in over 200 deaths and forcing a relocation to London. Daniella Luan 23, told Channel 4's Cutting Edge programme that she had raised grievances concerning the location of the contest prior to its commencement in December 2002, whereupon they suggested she took part but guaranteed that she would not win the title.
The Miss World organiser Julia Morley has denied the allegations. Miss Luan has now resumed her modelling career and is completing the final year of her human biology degree at Oxford Brookes University.
