Street Catz
St Catherine's JCR has passed a motion to make Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley and his character Todd Grimshaw both honorary members of the college. Todd had previously toyed with the idea of studying at Oxford University in the popular television soap, but decided not to leave the Street.
Catz student Dan Dockery is now in negotiations with the Coronation Street press office to arrange a presentation ceremony in which Bruno will be given a college scarf and hoodie. The national press are expected to attend and Bruno will spend the rest of the evening in the Catz bar.
The proposed visit is not Catz's first involvement with soaps or the national media. The JCR recently agreed to write a letter of congratulations to Lynn and Joe Scully from Neighbours on the birth of their new son, and a letter to Toadie offering their commiseration on the death of his wife Dee. Both letters were signed by the JCR Committee and will be sent to Ramsey Street shortly.
