Union Hack
The Oxford Union's website was broken into this week by a team of Brazilian hackers.
Last Wednesday night, the front page of www.oxford-union.org was re-directed to the hacker's trademark mysterious message, including statements such as "NoNick was here" and "Brazil rules", leaving the address for their private chatroom.
Although the rest of the pages had been left intact, the Union's online team closed the whole site down for two days before being restored.
It is not only the Union that have suffered at the hand's of so-called "NoNick" and his team of "l33t h4x0rs", who similarly broke into over one hundred major websites in the last fortnight.
The Union's website has had over 10,000 unique visitors and 250,000 hits in the last month. Hundreds of visitors, including many potential members, will have seen the hacked site.
