Slap one of the characters on roller-skates and you've got Michael Bloomfield's version of Bob Carlton's musical, based on the 1956 film of similar name....

We don't get an awful lot of Australian drama over here. Obviously, there's "Neighbours" and "Home and Away" -- cultural landmarks that they are -- but ask most of us to name a major Australian playwright and you're into the "five famous Belgians" territory of silence. But maybe things are going to change, because Australian Joanna Murray-Smith's "Nightfall" is a very good play -- very English, too. ...
