Claire Stopped Short
Secretary of state for International Development, Claire Short's visit to the Oxford Union on Tuesday was disrupted as anti-war protestors attempted to storm the Chamber. Police helicopters were called in after the protestors entered the premises underground, via the Purple Turtle. Demonstrators blockaded the entrance of the building forcing Thames Valley Police to close the Union to the public. The small but vocal group chanted, "We don't want your bloody war" from the steps of the Chamber....
