Kylie to come?

Rumours are currently surrounding the headline act of the Revolution Ball. Inside sources have revealed to the OxStu that the headline act will be a "female UK number one artist". Although the star has yet to be officially revealed, there is a question mark over the head of Australian diva Kylie Minogue. She is currently on her sell out 'On a Night Like This' Tour in Australia. But the tour finishes on May 15th, over a month before the Revolution Ball on June 23rd.

Kylie Minogue is one of the most successful female soloists ever, and during her career has had 21 Top 10 Hits including five number one singles. Only Madonna has had more number ones among female artists. Like Madonna, Kylie has reinvented both her style of music and her image a number of times. She started out as the friendly girl next-door and evolved into a leather hot-pant clad sex goddess.

Julian Ratcliffe, of the Oxford Revolution committee, said he was "not in a position to confirm or deny the rumours" because "contracts for the headline act had yet to be drawn up". However he did hope to "be able to release a name as soon as possible".

Other speculation centres round the possibility of Geri Halliwell or Emma Bunton performing a set.

The Ball already has an impressive line-up of DJs, including Spoony, Fabio and Grooverider, as well as top acts such as Atomic Kitten. But many people are still awaiting the release of the lead act. If it is Kylie, this would certainly be a coup for the Revolution ball team. Even without a confirmed top act, tickets are selling extremely fast. They stop being on sale after Sixth Week, but are expected to have sold out by then.
