Letters To The Editors

Dear Editors,

I found your remarks about Ms Clinton to be crude and insensitive. She was simply expressing her heartfelt feelings about what happened here in USA on 9/11. Did you know she was only blocks away when it happened? Do you know what its [sic] like to be in the middle of utter chaos? Her being Bill Clinton's daughter doesn't matter all Americans feel the way she does or at least the majority.

It's funny to me that such an ignorant idiot can get into Oxford. You apparently don't know much about the Clinton Administration if you can accuse her druming [sic] up war support; allow me to enlighten you. Bill Clinton spent 8 years trying to help the PLO and Israel arrive at a peaceful solution to there [sic] problem. Bill Clinton was all about peace not war. Funny how the English can talk about Americans the way they do. At least were [sic] not stupid enough to pay millions of pounds, euros what ever [sic] to support a monarchy ,,,I can see why my ancestors jumped on the Mayflower and beat it out of England,, ,, Thank God ,, I'm proud to be an American!

Dear Madams,

In reply to your extensive coverage of the Union smoking issue in the last issue of last term ('Shrouded in Smoke' and 'Smoking Saga Still Smouldering at the Union'), if there is any issue which so succinctly sums up the problems facing the Union today then this is it. The repeated attempts by Union 'hacks' to go against the views of the majority of members, who were polled on the issue, and allow smoking in the bar demonstrate that the powers that be do not care at all about the average member. Instead of spending money on its members we have seen an increasing percentage of the Union's budget go on entertaining the friends of those high up in the corridors of power.

Why not run myself and try to change things? Because the bizarre system of rules in place mean that it would take a year of my life to get into the position where I could make any difference. Also, the experience of friends who have been threatened and bribed not to run have made me question whether or not it is worth the effort.

So what is the solution to the problem? Simple - get hold of the Freshers next term and beg them not to join.

Dear Editors,

I beg you to discontinue your distressingly extensive coverage of Oxford Romance. Long days and uncomfortable nights have been spent enduring harassment from various members of this forum for voracious fornicators, not least one young gentleman of frequent fetish frenzies going by the name of White Spirit. I am, quite frankly, Disgusted.
