All for charity...
A PACKED UNION debating chamber witnessed a stunning show of flesh at RAG's annual 'Mr and Miss Oxford' contest. Hosted by the Hon. Gareth John and judged by Dave Watson, Ruth Hunt and ex-RAG President Penny Evans, it lived up to its billing as "a night of naked flesh debauchery".
First round joke-telling, chat-up lines and an enthusiastic 'Bailey's order' from Mr. Exeter saw contestants whittled down from nine to six. After a second round break-dancing demonstration by 'Wadey and Lee', the crowd began to get vocal as the Oxford hunks were asked to follow suit. The girls were given the simpler task of limbo-dancing, where poor Miss Magdalen was somewhat limited by a couple of obstacles - much in contrast to the svelte winner, a Lycra-clad Miss Worcester.
After a series of gruelling elimination rounds, including shirt-lifting, tin-shaking and a 'wine relay', a clear men's winner emerged: James Imrie from Jesus, who not only "looked mmmm" , but also managed to celebrate his 21st birthday that evening.
Among the female contestants, it was much closer: St. Hilda's Angela Moffatt revealed her persausive personalities, but Miss Lincoln won the day for sheer enthusiasm with a bicycle pump.
With £1000 raised for charity, RAG President Rachel Antony-Roberts commented, "I really didn't expect Oxford students to be that good-looking or indeed that generous". Organiser Mark Anderson concluded: "If you thought this was good, wait until RAG Week: carnage".
