Wadham looking for Romance
OXFORD'S ONLINE DATING agency has revealed that Wadham is the college with the greatest need for love. Oxford Romance, whose website launch was reported in last term's OxStu, has now published a breakdown of its membership by college.
The figures show that Wadham provides the most members, 119, closely followed by Keble and St. Anne's with 116. Jesus has the least of any college, with just 17 members, only one more than Regent's Park, the small Permanent Private Hall. Surprisingly, St. Benet's, the monastic hall, had three members.
Manager of Oxford Romance, Dave Agarwal of St. Anne's, said that the result was easily explained, as "Wadham have historically always been free with their love". He insisted that it was "nothing to do with being desperate". This view was supported by Wadham JCR President Louise McMullen, who said that her college had always been "active and outgoing".
