Varsity Stalemate
A mere 90 minutes after Oxford had claimed the Boat Race in the most dramatic fashion possible, the crowd at Loftus Road were brought back down to earth with a bump, as Oxford and Cambridge played out a goalless draw in the 118th Varsity Football match. A sizable number made the trek from the Thames to Shepherd's Bush, and, although the enthusiasm of both sets of supporters never betrayed the fact, they were poorly rewarded by a game in which the two defences were comfortably on top throughout. Indeed, it was the type of game often described as "one for the purists"....

More than 400 spectators watched the Oxford University Women's Ice Hockey Club shut out Cambridge University 2-0 in the annual Varsity March held at the Oxford Ice Rink on Saturday 9th March.

Oxford lost for the second time in a week against a rampant Northants at the Parks on Sunday. Oxford would have been pleased with their performance on the first couple of days in this three-day match, but sadly they fell away on the last day and ended up losing by over 200 runs.

A vocal crowd of around 300 people at Iffley Road saw college football supremos Magdalen complete the 'double-double' with a deserved yet narrow win over a St. Catherine's team cheered on by a posse of enthusiastic supporters.
Sport: Women's Cricket
Defending champions Oxford, captained this year by Kat Dickens (St Anne's), retained the CTS Travel Trophy at the Southern University Indoor tournament, held in the indoor cricket school at Lord's. This fast-moving game takes place in a small playing area bounded by taut netting. Each team of six contains at least four bowlers to share the eight overs per side. One run is scored for hitting the netting, with fours and sixes for the long boundary straight down the ground. Actual runs contribute two to the score. Batsmen retire on reaching 20, but are allowed to return if the rest of the wickets fall, batting until they reach 40....
