Bursar No-Conned Over Building Fiasco

St Anne's JCR have passed a motion of no confidence in their Domestic Bursar following a series of failed building projects.

The motion reads: "The Bursar is incompetent regarding the building works, and what he perceives as 'accurate'". It was passed almost unanimously.

The college had promised students a new JCR area, kitchen and bar. All except the bar were underway but now, due to unforeseen costs, the bar project has been cancelled and the others are at a standstill.

The Bursar, Martin Jackson, had estimated the cost at around £550k, but this figure has since risen to £870k.

The motion follows a poster campaign likening the Bursar to the Iraqi Minister for Information for his alleged flexibility with the truth.

JCR President Christopher Sullivan told the OxStu, "An element of hatred for the Bursar has developed recently. The whole situation is very disappointing for all concerned. I earnestly hope our new area is built and that anyone with a grievance with the Bursar goes to see him."
