Graduate Arrested
An Oxford graduate briefly became a political prisoner during the Welsh Assembly last month, for holding up a ProLife poster of an abortion whilst standing on a busy street, it has been exclusively revealed to the OxStu.
After a tense verbal exchange with a passer-by about the nature of the shocking poster, the police were called out to arrest Fiona Pinto, aged 23, and a fellow activist. She says the police made no attempt to question them, but after three and a half hours in a cell decided to charge the arrested. Pinto, who graduated from Magdalen two years ago, said: "I am currently facing criminal charges but I am determined to stand up for what I believe in."
She added: "Regardless of different views of abortion, in a democracy we must uphold the right to the freedom of expression and let the electorate make up their own mind."
