Elections looming for OUSU positions
OUSU Vice President elect for women, Ros Dampier, has been forced to resign this week due to ill health.
Catherine Wallis, current Vice President (Women) said: "We're all very upset that Ros will be unable to take up her position. She would have done a fantastic job."
Nominations have opened for candidates to replace Dampier and elections in which all female students can vote are to be held on Thursday 13th May. David White, a member of the OUSU executive committee has also resigned, ostensibly for academic reasons.
Today sees the annual election for the next OUSU sabbatical Vice President Graduates.
Roland Enmarch, a DPhil student in Egyptology at Worcester College, is the only candidate. Enmarch told The OxStu that he wants: "to work to foster links between MCRs, in order to raise the profile of graduates both within OUSU and the general student body."
Graduate voters will also be invited to complete a survey on their attitudes towards and impressions of OUSU. The information gathered will be used to help increase the provision and support for graduates.
Dan Paskins, current VP (Graduates), said: "This election offers graduates the chance... to have their say about what their student union should be doing."
