Two Catz, three peaks
Two Catz students have raised £1,100 for charity after what began as a bar bet turned into a mountain hike.
Dan Kondziela and Pete Hesketh beat their challenge to climb Britain's 'Three Peaks' in twenty- four hours, scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within just twenty-one.
The hike was completed over Easter in difficult weather conditions. The first peak was approached with an air of anticipation and temperatures as low as -10 degrees slowed their progress. Their second peak, Scafell Pike, was reached in the dark just after midnight. By the time the challenge was completed the boys were "so tired we didn't even have the energy to celebrate," although they managed to stay awake long enough to eat a fry-up.
The money raised will go to Helen House, an Oxford children's hospice.
