Hugh's RON Pres candidate
St Hugh's JCR has been plunged into confusion following the rejection of Joe Taylor, the sole presidential candidate.
The post of President became vacant last week after Dominic Curran sensationally resigned amidst unrest over the College's decision to raise rents by 36 per cent over the next four years.
Taylor, who was not available for comment, lost out to RON by 118 votes to 96, forcing Vice President Cedric Soule to continue in his role as acting President.
Soule told The OxStu: "I don't think it's the best outcome for the JCR to have another election... I am stressed, but happy to continue in the role of acting President."
