Barks worse than it bites
Wes Craven’s directing ability has waxed and waned over the years, with the last noticeable high being post-modern teen horror Scream. Cursed sees Craven again teaming up with writer Kevin Williamson in an attempt to repeat their success. Sadly, they fail.
Film: Britain’s boys ‘n the hood?
The subject of gang culture and gun crime has proved popular with many filmmakers. In 1991 John Singleton delivered his seminal gang drama Boyz ‘N the Hood, and more recently City of God delivered a powerful insight into teenage crime in the slums of Rio.
