Once upon a time, there was a band called The Coral. The NME loved them and hailed them as the saviours of the dying Liverpool scene. A unique septuplet of youthful rapscallions hailing from the Wirral were the messiahs of psychedelic rock, introduced to us through the plucky charm of ‘Dreaming of You’.

Who could resist an evening of classic film music? Evidently not many �" on this particular evening the Sheldonian was packed. Not only was the music enjoyable, but the performance, too, was excellent, played with expression, precision and evident enthusiasm.

Hulk would have you believe that blue blood courses through their Belgian veins: Brant Bjork (former Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Catching (guitarist for QOTSA) have both proven themselves to be worthy vassals in the making of this record, and Hulk’s debut mini-album Kings of the Night initiated this theme most regally. Hulk, however, fail royally in delivering their promises.
