News: Sick Oxford Finalists Must Lose A Year
A number of finalists have been forced to defer their exams after leaving the examination hall more than once during the same paper or suddenly falling ill. Research by The Oxford Student in only four colleges showed that 30 students have been forced to defer for a variety of reasons, frequently because they fell ill.

Take Me to Dinner, the online dating service set up by an Oxford student, made the news again this week as a Sunday Mirror journalist went undercover to test quite how much he could get for his money. Gretchen Lennon, a first year Law student from Keble, was ‘shocked and upset’ to find herself the subject of the national newspaper article.
News: St Hilda’s first college to install vending machine in wake of condom pricking
St Hilda’s JCR have bought a condom vending machine to ensure that their welfare supplies are safe from sabotage. The move comes after Trinity’s supply of condoms was pricked by a syringe in second week this term, as reported in this newspaper.
News: Balliol Revokes Coca-Cola Ban
Balliol JCR has overturned its ban on Coca Cola only four days after its original boycott was passed. The motion was initially brought in response to Coca Cola’s ethical record and the effect of its activities on farmers in Kerala.
News: Row breaks out over hip-hop star
The Assistant Dean of New College withdrew permission to host an event at the college featuring hip-hop star KRS-One just five hours before the scheduled start on Monday evening, allegedly stating that ‘outsiders’ would come and ‘cause trouble’.

A group of University College finalists resorted to police intervention when a neighbour attempted to barge their door down after complaints over loud music.

Jesus College is attempting to push through permission for residential developments on its rural property in Lincolnshire, to the dismay of local residents. The land owned by Jesus, in North Kesteven near Lincoln, forms a section of an as yet undeveloped rural ring around the county’s capital.

The animal rights activist group SPEAK may have breached Oxford University’s injunction against the group by naming two members of the University whom they perceive to have conflicts of interest.

Information passed by The Oxford Student to the university pertaining to breaches in security at libraries is being reviewed by university authorities. An investigation by The Oxford Student found that staff at two of Oxford’s most famous libraries were not properly implementing new measures, introduced as part of the university’s ongoing review into library security.
