The New College School was broken into by two students

Two female students broke into a local primary school following a house party on Mansfield Road. The two students, both undergraduates at St Hilda’s, climbed through a window of the the school while attending a house party hosted by New students in college accommodation nearby. Staff at the New College Primary School, positioned just outside the students’ rooms, left windows open after the school closed.

The two girls entered the school via one open window before running around the playground late at night. They littered the school with alcohol and breakfast cereals, and threw a paddling pool through the window. One of the students said, “We just got quite pissed. We definitely didn’t break anything, although there was a lot of Weetabix all over the floor.” Students that had remained in the house party were soon interrupted by the arrival of New College porters.

While the porters were concerned over the noise level and the mess of the college accommodation, they were apparently oblivious to the two students roaming the school next door. St Hilda’s College is also unaware of their students’ involvement in the break-in, Lady English said, “I have not heard of such an episode or of anything remotely like that happening.

New College students have received emails from their college, although only concerning the noise and mess the party had inflicted upon their neighbours. A New College student present at the party, wishing to remain anonymous, said, “No New College students broke into the school, but five or six have received an email from the Dean. But the matter is sorted out now and I don’t think it is being taken any further.” The New College School declined to comment on the incident.
