Student band signed

An Oxford student band has received offers from several major record labels. Inlight, who headlined at The Zodiac nightcub last year, have been approached by two major record labels and several independent labels in the past few weeks. Lead singer Charlie Cooke, a History and Politics finalist at LMH, said, “We’ve been approached by two major labels in the last three weeks, but they have asked us not to name them.

We’ve also been approached by various different independent labels.” According to Cooke, the band has also been noticed by Michael Eavis, the organiser of the Glastonbury Music Festival. Cooke said, “When we headlined the Oxford Zodiac last year, he came along, as he was in Oxford anyway and had heard our music before.” InLight, who have recently toured in the United States, were formed in 2006.

As well as Charlie Cooke, the bassist, the band comprises of Peter Sarkies, a Wadham Biochemist, and Calum Crake, an LMH Engineer.
