Air team hits water

A team of Oxford University Air Squadron students have completed a 180 kilometre row from Oxford to Putney in order to raise funds for DecAId.

The row, which commenced at the Brasenose Boathouse in Oxford and ended at the Imperial College boathouse in Putney, raised £1500 for the charity.

Team leader Mark Bates, a Mathematician at Brasenose, said: “Although the challenge was physically demanding, we managed to complete the row in just under three days whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause. Everyone in the team without exception was up for the task, despite over half having no previous rowing experience. I am extremely grateful for all the support we have received and am proud of all the participants involved. ”
