Bus stop robbery on St Aldates

News

A 20-year-old man was mugged by two men who befriended him at St Aldate’s bus stop late on Monday night.
The two men then travelled with him to the Cowley area walking and chatting together. When they reached the bottom of Jackdaw Lane the two men threatened the 20-year-old and searched his bag and stole his mobile phone.

One of the attackers is believed to be 23 years old and was described as being of mixed race, approximately 6ft 3ins or 6ft 4ins, of medium build, with short black hair and a London accent. The second man is described as white, in his late twenties to early thirties with a goatee style beard. Both men wore hooded tops.

Incidents of serious acquisitive crime in the Oxfordshire area rose last year, with a 29% increase in domestic burglaries. However overall crime statistics in the area were down by almost 6%.

The police have urged anyone who may be able to assist with their investigation to either contact them or Crimestoppers.
