Turl Street comes alive for the Arts

FlashmobTurl Street was all singing and dancing on Saturday lunchtime with a flashmob to promote next week’s Arts Festival.

Students from Exeter, Jesus and Lincoln emerged from a gathering crowd dancing to Carly Rae Jepson’s smash-hit Call Me Maybe which was blasting from a Lincoln College room.

The event marks the launch of the annual Turl Street Arts Festival which sees the three colleges unite to provide evenings of musical, theatrical and comedic entertainment and follows a club night at Cellar last week.

Hundreds flocked to the Turl for the occasion while Lincoln’s JCR President Arthur Wakeley could be spotted watching from an upstairs window.

The festival continues tonight with a concert in Exeter College Chapel at 8pm (Tickets – £8 full/£6 concs (children, OAPs)/£4 students).
