Food Bank forced to move

Local News News

The Oxford charity Food Bank, which distributes around 5000 meals a week, may have to vacate their current premises within a week.

The charity currently works from a warehouse at the Seacourt Tower Retail Park under an agreement with he owners that if the site were to be redeveloped they would move. A planning application submitted last week means the charity may have only a week left before being forced off the premises.

David Cairns, co-founder of the food bank, said: “We are very grateful we have had this basically rent-free for seven or eight months… We have a couple of people prepared to let us use their base temporarily if it comes to that.”
