Laptop ban in Union bar

The Oxford Union Society has disallowed use of laptops in its bar.

The rule was passed following concerns that students working in the bar weren’t purchasing food or drinks and were taking the place of paying-customers.

Phil Dorrell, Union Bar Officer, said: “This change will hopefully give people that use the bar a more welcoming and more corperate enviroment for them to enjoy their food and drinks.

“I think that this change will be beneficial to the members of the society and will encourage more suitable use of the Union Bar.”
