Move over, Fellaini, Özil and Bale: The Oxford Student has sealed the deadline-day signing of Joe Miles. The Overheard at Oxford star, 19, has made the last-minute switch from rivals Cherwell for what is believed to be a considerable fee.
Seeing himself as neither a left- nor a right-winger in the Cherwell comment section, Miles will be fielded in a more creative role in the OxStu Features section. But with the transfer window about to slam shut, Cherwell have little time to fill the Deputy Comment Editor slot vacated by Miles.
Miles has also racked up a record number of appearances on Overheard at Oxford and will be hoping to transfer his prolific form to his new role.
“Like Dion Dublin, Joe is good with his head, and is impressive both attacking and defending a point of view. I’m looking forward to seeing more creativity in his new position,” commented OxStu editor Sarah Poulten, before adding, “Back of the net!”
Miles told assembled journalists that “It’s been a great pleasure to work with the Cherwell. However, it’s an absolute honour to join the OxStu team and I look forward to getting stuck into some exciting new features this year.”
